Bifrost Sports
What does Bifrost Sports cost?
Bifrost Sports is free for players and teams, and the free features stay free: following, stats, standings, Game Center, team chat, the schedule, RSVPs, the sub pool and collecting team fees (in beta). Leagues and rinks in the beta don’t pay either. If your team collects dues through Bifrost Sports, a small processing fee is added to each payment, so the team keeps every dollar it’s owed.
What will Bifrost Sports cost leagues and rinks after the beta?
Bifrost Sports hasn’t set its price for leagues and rinks after the beta. Leagues and rinks in the beta don’t pay.
Does everyone on the team need the Bifrost Sports app?
No. Everyone on the roster needs a free Bifrost Sports account, but not the app: each RSVP request also goes out by email with I’m In and Can’t Make It buttons, and a team fee (in beta) opens a pay page in any browser after signing in. Parents, partners and the guy in the stands can open a shared team link or subscribe to its schedule in Apple or Google Calendar without signing up at all.
Who can join the Bifrost Sports beta, and is there an Android app?
Adult rec leagues and teams in the US can join the Bifrost Sports beta by invite, with accounts for players 18 and up. The app runs on iPhone, iPad and Mac today. Android is on the roadmap, and until then Android teammates RSVP by email and pay team fees (in beta) in a browser.
Does Bifrost Sports work for youth hockey?
Not yet: Bifrost Sports accounts are for adults 18 and up, and youth hockey is on the roadmap. At rinks that sell sessions on Bifrost Sports, parents can book their kids in from their own account (in beta).
What does Bifrost Sports do with our players’ data?
Bifrost Sports doesn’t sell your players’ data or share it for targeted advertising. The details are in our privacy policy, in plain language.
Can I get a copy of my data, or delete my Bifrost Sports account?
Yes. Delete your Bifrost Sports account any time in the app: Settings, then General, then Delete Account. If you can’t sign in, email support@bifrostsports.com from the address on your account with the subject “Delete my account”, and it’s done within 30 days. For a copy of your data, ask support and you’ll get it in a portable format. The details are in our privacy policy.
How do I get help with Bifrost Sports?
Email support@bifrostsports.com. A real person at Bifrost Sports reads every note and writes back, usually within a day.
Who’s behind Bifrost Sports?
Bifrost Sports was founded by Justis Gyori, CEO, and Ben Friedrich, CTO, and the two of them build the app together. Justis is also a GM and a goalie. He runs an adult rec team, so RSVPs, subs and team fees land on him every week, and he’s the goalie for a championship-winning semi-pro team. Most of what Bifrost Sports does started as a problem one of us hit at the rink.
Is Bifrost Sports affiliated with USA Hockey or the NHL?
No. Bifrost Sports isn’t affiliated with any league or governing body. Its scoring follows the USA Hockey, NHL, PWHL and NCAA rulebooks so your scoresheet matches the game you play.

Rinks
Which ice sports does Bifrost Sports handle?
Bifrost Sports runs hockey end to end. Rinks also post public skate, stick and puck, freestyle, learn to skate, clinics and camps. Figure skating levels and club competitions are in beta, and curling is on the way.
Leagues
We already have a season going. How do we move it to Bifrost Sports?
Bring your schedule and rosters, and Bifrost Sports sets the season up with you (in beta). Past games come in from photos of their paper scoresheets, read and checked before they count.
Do we have to move everything to Bifrost Sports at once?
No. Bifrost Sports can set up one team on its own, and a rink can start with one of its leagues.
Can we put our schedule and standings on our own website?
Yes. Bifrost Sports has five website widgets that drop into any site with one short copy-and-paste snippet: standings, the schedule, league leaders, a live score ticker and a team widget. Each stays current, comes in a light or dark theme, and resizes itself to fit your page. Tell us which season and which widgets, and we’ll send you the code. It works on Wix, Squarespace, WordPress or a hand-built site.
Officials
Does our officials association have to be on Bifrost Sports?
For the assigning side, yes. Game offers, the assign board and reminders (in beta) run when your officials association runs on Bifrost Sports.
Scoring
Do we have to score games live in Tower Scoring?
No. Your league can keep its paper scoresheet and move to live scoring in Tower Scoring (in beta) when it’s ready.
Which rulebooks does Tower Scoring follow?
Tower Scoring (in beta) follows USA Hockey by default, with NHL, PWHL and NCAA variants for the leagues that play them, plus your league’s own mercy rule.

Teams and clubs
Can a parent be in the team chat?
Yes. In Bifrost Sports, the GM can add a team parent to the team chat, so the family hears what the team hears.
Coaches
Do I have to be the GM to message the whole team?
No. In Bifrost Sports, a coach or the GM can send announcements and RSVP requests to the whole team.
Players
Where do the stats in Bifrost Sports come from?
From your league’s games, scored one of three ways. When the league scores live in Tower Scoring (in beta), the stats land as the game is played. When it keeps a paper scoresheet, someone photographs it after the game, Bifrost Sports reads the goals, penalties and saves, and someone on the league’s side checks them before they count. And for leagues that post their schedules and results publicly, Bifrost Sports reads those; here’s how.
